The Power of Delegation

The human "condition" is fairly predictable -- we tend to stay in our comfort zone until forced out by pain or reward. However, the most successful leaders will tactically move out into the "creative tension zone" when needed to achieve greater results. Why not the rest of us? Creatures of habit...and delegation fits into this picture. Humans will hold onto a set of responsibilities until they finally perceive the effort to maintain them is far greater than value gained with something new. As leaders, it takes a leap of faith to let go and delegate, thus creating the opening for new opportunities. And, this also grows those under us to create an upward swell of positive career movement. Growth can be uncomfortable, but science-based assessment tools can be instrumental in delegating intelligently with a sense of purpose.
