The Power of Delegation
The human "condition" is fairly predictable -- we tend to stay in our comfort zone until forced out by pain or reward. However, the most successful leaders will tactically move out into the "creative tension zone" when needed to achieve greater results.

TTI SI, a premier assessment developer that I have used for over 16 years, published an article on ways to increase emotional intelligence (EQ). They provide a variety of tools to gauge EQ and offer prescriptive solutions for improvements. My personal favorite in this arena is the Tri-Metrix EQ that combines behavioral style, motivators and EQ with a summary that blends all three.
For leaders, high EQ is essential to creating a high-performing work culture of trust and cohesion. Take a look at the short, graphical article and see if there may be some simple changes you can make to increase self-awareness and self-regulation. Improvement in these two areas alone will lead to increased motivation, social awareness and regulation. After all, couldn't the world use a little more emotional stability?

Great article from SHRM on best criteria and tools for hiring successfully. Assessment tools used effectively with pre-hire candidates can lead to much higher likelihood of success with onboarding them, and ultimately career success leading to enhancing organizational goals.

I recently sat in on one of TTI Success Insights (my assessment provider of choice) regular webinars on Meaningful Conversations That Reinforce Culture. At the beginning the moderator recounted some startling statistics from a recent study by Gallup:
-- 70% of U.S. employees are not engaged at work
-- 89% of owners and managers think that their employees are leaving to make more money somewhere else, when in reality only 12% leave for more money.
What are these statistics telling us? One obvious answer is a lack of motivation. The other is that the object of their motivation is not what management believe it it. Let's take a look at this.

The usual culprit behind ineffectiveness -- or the inability to accomplish a goal quickly and efficiently -- is resistance. And resistance builds in the face of unresolved conflicts until inertia or something greater sets in.

Humans are multifaceted beings with many components that can be measured by assessments. What is the value of taking these assessments and what do you do with them? Successful people know themselves, and they are aware of how others see them, so they are more effectively navigating their way to their goals with full support from others...

Utilizing Assessments for Hiring Part 2. In the previous post, it was noted in a survey by the Society for Human Resource Management, that it is estimated that “18% of companies use psychometric testing in the hiring process. This is expected to increase by 10-15% per year.” HR professionals need to be prepared to apply digital hiring tools for effective interviewing, evaluation, job matching, and onboarding.
