How to Thrive Now and into the Future. In the last blog article from February 26, 2021, I asked “How important is it for business leaders to get it right in 2021?”. Surprising statistics were noted on how little confidence senior business leaders have in their rising leaders according to Deloitte surveys.

The success of any organization rises and falls on its leadership. We all know too well: “As the leaders go, so goes the company.” It’s only when leaders invest in the right priorities, while keeping those priorities in the correct order, that true potential can be reached. TTI SI, a premier assessment developer that I have used for over 16 years, published an article on ways to increase emotional intelligence (EQ). They provide a variety of tools to gauge EQ and offer prescriptive solutions for improvements. My personal favorite in this arena is the Tri-Metrix EQ that combines behavioral style, motivators and EQ with a summary that blends all three. For leaders, high EQ is essential to creating a high-performing work culture of trust and cohesion. Take a look at the short, graphical article and see if there may be some simple changes you can make to increase self-awareness and self-regulation. Improvement in these two areas alone will lead to increased motivation, social awareness and regulation. After all, couldn't the world use a little more emotional stability?

"An objective, evidence-based hiring process can be an effective way to minimize biases and limit impulsive decision-making." Assessment tools used effectively with pre-hire candidates can lead to much higher likelihood of success with onboarding them, and ultimately career success leading to enhancing organizational goals.
